Tiny Plays, Big Ideas with Rosemary Jenkinson

Ever wanted to write for the stage? During this one-day workshop, participants will find out how to create hard-hitting, eye-catching short plays. Attendees will be challenged to come up with fresh, cutting-edge ideas as they learn how to craft high-impact dialogue and how to navigate the competitive world of contemporary theatre. Expect insights on interacting with dramaturgs, actors and directors, advice on where to send your script and practical scriptwriting tips/exercises for all levels.

Rosemary Jenkinson is an acclaimed and prolific playwright whose plays include: The Bonefire, Planet Belfast, Here Comes the Night, Michelle and Arlene and Lives in Translation. She also writes short stories with her short story collection Catholic Boy was described by Mia Gallagher as “cunningly seductive, by turns raucous, wry and tender. A gifted storyteller, Jenkinson leavens even her darkest materials with biting, effervescent wit – while never breaking faith with the small, shabby realities of her endearing cast of liars, rogues, sex-addicts and former World Champion snooker players.
