Inspired by Dermot Healy’s evocative poem, this immersive event brings together the past, present, and future of the county’s cultural heartbeat in one electrifying experience.

Feel the pulse of Cavan through stirring performances by a legendary house band featuring Sean O’Reilly, Mike Paterson, Emil Kapusta, and The Greenhorns. Journey through the county’s history with stunning archival footage, woven seamlessly into an evening of music, poetry, and storytelling.
The night also features a stellar lineup of special guests, including NoVendors, The Dukes, Terry Brady, Donny McAvenue, Ellen O’Brien, Shane Walsh, Robert Mulligan, Philip Doherty, Rita Perry, and Liam McCabe - each adding their own voice to this unforgettable celebration of place and creativity.

Supporting Soft Launch is Dirty Marmalade who are busy writing and releasing tracks in their own inimitable style, they are without a doubt, one of the most original music acts in Ireland and Cavan Arts Festival are delighted to welcome them back. A politely strange, eclectic blend of class that isn’t averse to a bit of scandal!
Their debut album ‘Hills of Breifne’ tells the story of their origins in Cavan, a personal commentary on modern social dysfunction in rural Ireland.
