Zine Workshop

Re-connect with focus, community and play in a fun exploration of different ways to document and story tell in this image forming event. Through illustration, typography, mark-making or image manipulation, you will create a zine to tell a collective story exploring our connections to nature and the digital world. Draw, paint, cut and paste your way to visualising ideas using the materials provided.

Mohammad Syfkhan

Music of joy, love, and happiness from Kurdish-Syrian bouzouki sensation. Singer and bouzouki player Mohammad started playing traditional folk music in his home city of Raqqa in the 1980s, performing throughout Syria. Forced to flee his homeland after his son was murdered by ISIS, Mohammad, a surgical nurse by profession, settled in Leitrim, where his combination of traditional Kurdish music and original compositions has taken the Irish trad scene by storm.

Love Me Do by James O'Donnell

Join Kate & Mick as they take you on a journey of romance, drama, comedy & heartbreak on the streets of Cavan. Love Me Do, written & directed by James O’Donnell, starring Niamh McPhillips & Callum Maxwell is a play in three parts, each lasting 15 minutes. You will be notified where to meet next at the end of each part. Every half hour, you will see another chapter of their story unfold, until the final curtain falls.

Tickets: €10. Strictly limited to 20 per performance. Over 16’s only.

Zoe Purcell & Sharon Greene

Working with sustainably and locally foraged natural materials, artists Zoe & Sharon are creating site-responsive land art during the festival weekend. Please feel free to watch, enjoy & ask questions.

Join them at the bandstand at 12pm on Sunday 19th May to take part in their mandala making workshop. All ages welcome, free event.

The Picture Palace: Part 2

Step into the ethereal realm of The Picture Palace: Part 2, a new dance film created by Jessie Keenan, Townhall Cavan’s Dance Artist in Residence. This new work delves into the complex relationship between bodies, buildings & memories with Cavan’s Townhall as the backdrop. Within the historic walls of the Townhall, echoes of the past come alive as three captivating characters explore hidden memories & forgotten moments. Drawing on archival materials, research & personal histories, this film installation makes tangible the intangible & captures the unseen essence of a building. Take a seat, allow the intricate soundscape to immerse you, & lose yourself in another world, if only for a moment.
