Marking Time by Jane McCormick
Cavan-based visual artist Jane McCormick presents Marking Time, an exhibition exploring time, isolation and the lived experience of chronic illness.
Opening: Thursday 14 May, 6pm
Open: Friday 15th-Sunday 17th May, 12-5pm
Guided Tours: Saturday 16th May, 2-4pm
Drawing from her long-standing practice of collecting “trash/treasures”, a personal archive built over 50 years, McCormick transforms everyday materials into works that reflect on fragility, resilience and the passing of time. Central to this exhibition is the recurring motif of the bed, symbolising both rest and confinement.
Inspired by the idea of “measuring life out by the spoonful,” Marking Time reflects the fluctuating nature of energy and the quiet rhythms of daily life. Thoughtful and deeply personal, this exhibition invites audiences to reflect on imperfection, endurance and care.
