Acclaimed author and environmentalist Eoghan Daltun is famed and beloved in equal measure for his inspiring work on rewilding. His talk at Con Smith Park's Big Top Tent promises to be both thought-provoking and hopeful. Don’t miss this chance to hear from one of Ireland’s most influential environmental leaders!
His insights into rewilding are reshaping how we view our relationship with nature.
The Dublin native's experience of letting his farm on Cork's Beara Peninsula return to its natural state to produce a native forest spawned the bestselling book 'An Irish Atlantic Rainforest: A Personal Journey Into the Magic of Rewilding'. It stands as a treatise for letting nature guide the way to a sustainable future and has inspired many Cavan environmentalists to take up the challenge.
In 2023 Eoghan travelled the length and breadth of Ireland photographing areas of temperate rainforest, in a bid to illustrate their beauty and immense ecological value, and to document, in almost all cases, their state of decline.
A man of many talents Eoghan is an Italian-trained sculptor and continues to work conserving sculptures across Ireland. He is also currently bringing his rewilding adventures to film.
