Call for Artists: Join Carnival School at Cavan Arts Festival 2025
Cavan Arts Festival is seeking five professional artists to lead workshops as part of Carnival School (CS) thanks to funding from PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of a new, inclusive arts education initiative that fosters cross-community learning and cultural expression.
What we’re looking for:
We are inviting applications from artists skilled in one or more of the following disciplines:
- Music (Samba, Brass)
- Making (floats, costumes, props for street art performance)
- Movement (dance)
- Circus
Selected artists will lead introductory taster workshops at Cavan Arts Festival on May 17th and 18th 2025. These workshops will serve as the foundation for continued learning, leading to performances at the festival in subsequent years.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate engaging, beginner-friendly workshops at CAF 2025.
- Work with diverse community participants, fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and fun learning environment.
- Inspire participants to continue learning and collaborating as part of the wider Carnival School initiative.
We encourage applications from artists who:
- Have professional experience in their discipline.
- Are passionate about community engagement and participatory arts.
- Have experience working with diverse groups, including marginalised communities.
- Can create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
